Personal exhibition of works VICTOR BELOV

VICTOR BELOV Personal exhibition of works Krivoy Rog, 1976   Works by Viktor Belov stop an eye because of their specificity. Their brushwork and the peculiarities of the world perception are rather original. In the works by Belov landscape is the leading genre. He recreates the colours of nature.  The treasure theme of the artist – the land and people – is brimming with soulful lyricism, life-affirming optimism. The work of an ordinary person and the beauty of the land on which he lives are revealed in multi-sided panorama of life in Belov’s paintings – village huts on... More »

The Ukrainian painter Grigory Shyshko (1923-1994) spanned the lifetime of the USSR , and his work is a vibrant example of how a highly individual artist in those times negotiated a path to create a distinctive language all his own. Formed both within and against the constraints of late-Socialist Realism, and taking from Russian, Ukrainian and international art history its broad outlines,... More »
